Our goal is to provide children, their families, caregivers, educators and those associated with them, the means to allow the child to function to their maximum potential at home, school, work and/or play.
We aim to do this through assessment, treatment, consultation, education, program and environmental adaption advice and by liaising with other professionals and agencies in a courteous and professional manner.
York Paediatric's mission is: Every child is important and every child has the right to learn how to perform to their maximum potential. We are committed to understand the needs of each child and their family. The foundation of a child's success is born through marriage of every person who interacts with your child. Our mandate is: that every person with whom we work has a clear appreciation about how their child is functioning and how you can learn to advocate for your child's needs. In this way, our community along with our efforts can support and promote your child's steps to independen ce and complete happiness. About The Director Rhona Feldt-Stein is an Occupational Therapist who graduated from the University of Western Ontario, London, Ontario in 1975. She has devoted her career to working with children with various disabilities. Rhona has worked in hospital settings, home care services, and with a board of education. She has owned and directed York Paediatric Therapy Services since its inception in 1982. Rhona has post-graduate certificates in the assessment and treatment of children with neurodevelopmental problems and for children with sensory integrative dysfunction. She has presented at conferences locally, nationally and internationally on a variety of topics. Rhona has authored several articles and chapters in books. Rhona also has Faculty Status in the University of Toronto and is a guest lecturer at York University. Our services are provided at our clinic or in private schools that are associated with the School Care Program through the Community Care Access Centre in York Region, North York and Toronto. These services include Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Physical Therapy. Every parent wants to see their child happy, content and full of confidence to meet any challenge.
